Chef is at it again with his original creations. He coated the tofu with a mixture of flour, salt, pepper, cumin, coriander, turmeric and garlic powder. He then pan-fried the coated tofu until it turned golden brown. The result was this dish that most curry eaters would love.

The combined meals were due to some scheduling conflicts. It was too late to have lunch and too early for dinner, so a fusion of both just made sense. We went to a popular shabu-shabu place called Onyasai. Not only do they have a vegetarian menu, they also served high quality vegetables. The soup bases you see below resembling a yinyang were spicy and soy-milk. It was really satisfying. We ordered 7 varieties of mushrooms, my favourite of which was the maitake, but all were very good.

I love bitter gourd because of its taste, and that includes and most specially its bitterness. So I usually don’t like it when somebody tries to do something that impacts this aspect of the vegetable. Unfortunately, chef added honey to this sautéed dish which made it a little bit sweet.

Shame! Shame! Shame!
I’ve had people say they’re disappointed of me in jest because I listen, and actually like, country music. But I just like music in general, no matter what the genre, as long as it appeals to any of my senses, not just the ears. But with country music, I believe what appeals to me the most are the intricate stories woven into the whole song. This is also, I believe, why newly ordinated saint Taylor Swift’s album 1989 was, is, such a huge success. She fused that one great element of country, with pop, to appeal to a broader audience.
I’m not ashamed to admit it, but it was Carrie Underwood who introduced me to country music, with her rendition and collaboration with the band Rascal Flatts on their song “Bless the Broken Road”. That song is just positive, uplifting and inspirational in general.

Going on third week of being a vegetarian and I think I need to do something about why I have been feeling tired a lot lately. Maybe I need to take vitamin or protein supplements. Anyway, on to today’s dish.
This napolitan spaghetti reminds me of the one we had back home. It’s a little bit on the sweet side for my liking, but the saltiness of the egg certainly balances the entire dish.
