Going on third week of being a vegetarian and I think I need to do something about why I have been feeling tired a lot lately. Maybe I need to take vitamin or protein supplements. Anyway, on to today’s dish.
This napolitan spaghetti reminds me of the one we had back home. It’s a little bit on the sweet side for my liking, but the saltiness of the egg certainly balances the entire dish.

Dinner – Saturday
Marlo and I decided to go on a road trip with some friends and we found ourselves ending up at Enoshima, and eventually Red Lobster. Now this was the first time I am ordering something at a restaurant, and explicitly giving the waitress an instruction to remove the meat. For some reason I felt awkward while doing it. Anyway, I ended up with a meat-free taco salad, with a side of onion rings.

My mom and my friends are asking for it so yes, some of chef’s dishes will have its own recipe blog post. We are still trying to figure out the format and the frequency of those blog posts but until then, on to the food!

This 30-day challenge isn’t even done yet and we found ourselves last night thinking of other experiments we can do for the succeeding months. Maybe a 30-day challenge about learning how to play the keyboard or the guitar, all for the purpose of self improvement. We’ll see. But on to the food.
It’s a cereal day. So basically we mix 2 types of cereals, the flat ones and the fruit-granola mix. As usual, we put milk and yogurt, plus the flavour of the week, which in this case is blueberry jam.

After a week of only eating plants, I would say that the hardest part in switching our diet is not that we can not have meat. But rather it is the fact that we had to make a conscious effort discerning what type of food we eat. Are we getting enough proteins? Are we eating too much tofu? Are we consuming enough fibrous foods?
These are questions that should be asked on a regular basis but since you can just eat whatever you want, you rarely put a second thought into.
The combination of the avocados and the roasted sesame seeds really made this dish stand out. Again, roasted sesame seeds MADE this dish. Ever since my mom introduced chef and myself to roasted sesame seeds, we never looked at it the same way again. Just pan-fry a quarter cup of seeds and try them, your taste buds will thank you for it
